Social Networking > The way for 2009 $uccess.

My #1 priority is mastering and dominating social media.

I'll be the first to admit that I've neglected this arena until now. It's been the bastard step-child on my "to-do" list for over two years, but the time has come to change that.

"Traffic and Trust".

Before social media, you could describe the interactions we've had with the Internet as "People to Software".

What you experienced was a static information piece. You could read about whatever you wanted, watch whatever you wanted, and post whatever you wanted.

You could manipulate it by performing searches, and "use" it as a tool like a hammer, but you couldn't interact with it on a conscious level. You couldn't have a "conversation".

Well thanks to social media, the internet has turned into a living, breathing, thinking, talking entity, because YOU and I have been integrated into the software.

It's become a "People to People" experience, so now when you talk, perform a search, make a blog post, or ask a question, the web talks back.

Think about it this way...

Television was a one-way communication channel that allowed you to watch pictures, and listen to sounds.

The Web was like having the ability to touch and manipulate the pictures on your TV.

But Web 2.0 is like having a TV that has a conversation with you. If you insult it, it will insult you back or actively ignore you.

And believe me, the web can be a very powerful and persuasive person. If you've been on a website and read reviews or comments posted by users, you've been exposed to its' persuasive abilities.

The sites that are making this kind of interaction possible like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and YouTube, have started gobbling up the majority of the traffic - and more importantly - the time and attention of people on the net.

For example, the average Facebook user checks their account 3 - 4 times daily, and spends 19+ minutes on the site per session. That's over an hour per day.

Now throw in YouTube, Twitter, LinkdIn. BetterNetworker, and the rest of the social networking sites, and that hour turns into 3+ hours.

Social media is the new communication channel that will dominate the web. That's a fact.

Which means you need to ask yourself a few very important questions...

What will happen to your business if you're not a part of the conversations taking place about YOU, your products, and your company?

What will happen to your business if the web turns it's voice against you?

What will happen if you speak... Even shout... and the web ignores you?

How would you ever recruit distributors, or sell your products?

As online marketers, that's the reality we're now faced with.

You see, the new power this transition is creating will belong to the people like you and I who are able to create an "audience" (traffic), that will listen and support you (trust).

It's not just about search engine links on Google anymore. It's about the size of your following, and the quality of the relationship you have with those people.

But now you've got to have manners...

Etiquette is involved, because now you're literally "speaking" to the web instead of just watching it, and poking it with your mouse.

Each community has it's own language, like ("tweets, tweeting, and re-tweets" on Twitter). Each community has it's own sense of purpose, identity, influencers, and rules of conduct like BetterNetworker.

Yet this is where the traffic is going, so this is where we must follow.

This is where you prospects time and attention will be, so this is where you need to be.

So ask yourself the following questions...

What kind of social media presence do you have now? (If any at all?)

How will you stand out from the crowd of millions of people and build your audience?

Once you have that audience, how will you build trust?

Once you have that trust, how will you turn that relationship into business without betraying it?

Well those are the questions and the journey we're faced with, and as I've always said in the past, "success is in the details".

And when it comes to the details of building a massively successful presense using social media, my friend Perry Belcher is the best.

Your Free Basic Guide To What A Splash Page Is & Why You Should Use One

Introduction
If you are reading this report right now, I believe it is safe to make two assumptions:

1. You are interested in making money on the Web
2. You know what a traffic exchange program is

If this is true you might want to skip the next few paragraphs and get to the main topic of this report; i.e. what a splash page is and why you should be using these tools in your traffic exchange promotions.

On the other hand, if you are really new to all this you may wish to read the rest of this introduction.

Ok you haven't skipped so you must be new to the world of Internet marketing, or at least new to the concept of traffic exchanges. Great I love teaching new people!

Only you know your reasons for coming to the Web in search of income opportunities. Maybe you have your own retail product and you are looking for new buyers, or maybe you are an entrepreneur who is promoting a business opportunity to other entrepreneurs.

Whatever you are selling, you surely know that your website needs plenty of traffic in order to generate any sales. And one great way to drive loads of free traffic to any site is through traffic exchange programs.

This report is not intended to be a traffic exchange guide but I do want to be sure you have at least a basic understanding of what these programs are because splash pages are tools that are specifically designed to work with traffic exchanges.

A traffic exchange is a membership program where affiliate marketers and website owners literally trade page views with each other. You just open an account, enter your site or affiliate links into the traffic rotation, and then you surf through the pages of other members in order to generate credits, which are then spent on visitors to your own pages.

So you look at other people`s websites and in return the traffic exchange program sends visitors to your website.

This is a great system but there is one thing you need to understand: The people who will be viewing your website are doing so in an effort to earn traffic for their own sites, and the more sites they view the more traffic they will earn.

So the visitors you get from a traffic exchange will be in a hurry! You will only have a few seconds to capture a visitor's attention and pull them into your offer, and that's where the idea of a Splash Page comes into play.

What Is A Splash Page
A splash page is a fast loading, short, and compelling web page that is built for one reason to grab the attention of people who are in a hurry and get them to STOP and have a closer look at your offer.

People who are surfing traffic exchange programs are moving fast. They are viewing as many sites as possible in an effort to generate more traffic for their websites, so in order for your page to stand out you need something special.

A five page website is not going to have much of an impact (most of the time) an a traffic exchange surfer, and neither is a page with one of this mile-long sales letters. So if you are an affiliate marketer who is promoting a corporate site, or if you`re an info-marketer who is selling an e-book from a long sales page you need a specialized weapon to really get the most out of traffic exchange promotion.

This special weapon is a splash page.

Let me give you a visual example of how this all works. Let's take my Splash Page Maker website for example.

The sales page above is nice, but it's too long for the average surfer. Traffic exchange users will only stay on your page until the surf time runs out (just 10 to 30 seconds!) so you need to make your point FAST.

As you can see it's sharp, short, and sweet! You get the entire message as soon as you glance at the page and you are then invited to open the main sales page in a new window to learn more.

This is the perfect example of how splash page promotion should work. Get a surfer's attention and then pull them to your main page.

Why Should You Use A Splash Page?
Once they arrive at your main sales page in this manner they are coming because they are interested in learning more, so there is a good chance they will take you up on your offer. Splash pages have been tested over and over again, and they have been proven to improve results with traffic exchanges many times over! So this is really a no-brainer. If you want solid results with traffic exchanges you need to start using splash pages right now!



Special Note

Another tool you have probably heard about is a "Squeeze Page". The difference in a splash and a squeeze is superficial.

Basically a squeeze page is a web page with an opt-in form on it that allows you to collect subscribers for your mailing list instead of directing people to click on a link and view your main offer in a new window.

You can easily add an email form right on your splash pages and go from pulling people to your main landing page to bringing more people to your mailing list. All you have to do is copy and paste the HTML for your autoresponder and presto ~ your own squeeze page.

1. You need to make a strong visual impact

production costs aren't an issue. The product has been
developed and proven - all on the merchant's nickel.

2. Low Cost Set-up - Compared with building a brick and
mortar store, starting a home-based Internet business is
relatively cheap. You probably already have a desk,
Internet-connected computer and word-processing software,
which is all the equipment you may need.

10 Ways to Kick the Procrastination Habit

1. Personal values development. Take the time to find out what you really want in life, what your personal values are. Do you want more time, more money, better health, greater self esteem and confidence, more fulfilling relationships, a different career, set up a business? When we procrastinate it's often because what we are planning to do is not really aligned with what we truly want. We may be scared of our skills (or perceived lack of) or fear ridicule from others.

2. Make health a priority. Without good health we are less likely to have the energy and dynamism needed to make positive changes in our lives and it's easier (and necessary if you're very ill) to procrastinate. So ensure that you have a nourishing diet, sleep well, exercise and meditate. Incidentally, it is thought that regular meditation helps delay the worst effects of the ageing process.

3. Visualize your life without procrastination. See and feel the benefits in your life if you didn't procrastinate. What could you do and achieve? Begin to act as if you're not a procrastinator. Write down, draw, and imagine your life as a film. Use affirmations to help you.

4. Banish the Gremlin. That little voice which runs on auto in your head - that dismisses any idea that you might have. It says things like "I'm not in the mood" "I don't have time" "I can't do this". Stop running on auto, replace the "should" "ought" "have to" with "want to" "desire". You have a choice. Acknowledge your choices and banish the Gremlin. Again, using affirmations can help you replace the Gremlin with more positive alternatives.

5. Over commitment. Saying "yes" to everything - often leaves you feeling tired and without the energy to focus on what is most important to you. This leads to procrastination as projects and tasks are dropped. Identify what is most important to you and only focus on those areas which will make the biggest difference to your life. It will enhance your focus and motivation.

6. Setting personal professional goals. It's hard to motivate yourself when you don't have a good idea of what you want to accomplish. So when setting goals think about what you want to achieve in the short term and long term. Techniques for doing so include the SMART strategy. S = specific M = measurable A= Action R = Realistic T = Time based. Use goal setting software to help you in goal planning and setting.

7. Prioritize Your Goals. Develop a plan or schedule to help you reach your goals. In doing so you will begin to identify whether some elements need to be included or enhanced or dropped completely. Also remember to be flexible, revisit your goals regularly and modify or drop if appropriate. Just because a goal is written down doesn't mean that it is set in stone!

8. Divide and conquer. Once you've prioritized your goals, divide them into smaller chunks. Sometimes we procrastinate because a project seems really large that the scale of it overwhelms us and puts us into a temporary form of paralysis - you don't know where to start, so you don't start at all! Approach each project - especially large ones - on a step by step basis.

9. Reward yourself. Once you start to complete tasks, reward yourself by giving yourself something that you want. So instead of seeing a film before you complete a task, see it afterwards and make it a reward for you.

10. Just get started. No excuses. Don't wait until you're "in the mood". The mood never comes! It is a clever camouflage and a delaying tactic. What you resist persists! Start with what is easiest, so that you experience immediate success, which will give you the fuel and motivation to upgrade and take on larger projects.

Do any of the above and you'll be well on your way to Kicking the Procrastination Habit. And if you're procrastinating over doing any of the above, then remember that life is the biggest deadline of all!

How important is perseverance to your success in network marketing?

Without Perseverance you will fail.
Take Responsibility for Yourself You and only you are responsible for your success or failure. The choice is yours.

Healthy Living Healthy living is crucial for you because your energy and stamina are necessary for perseverance.
